I collaborated with Tsitsi Tsopotsa, the author of "Babel", to organise an immersive reading experience combining film, lighting and sound in a live book launch event.

My Responsibilities:
- Filming footage, collecting archival footage and editing for the 360 immersive video
- Regular meetings with author to co-organise event
- Directing and producing interviews of the author for social media content
- Liaising with venue technician to ensure immersive film is shown correctly
- Photography at the live event
- Managing a small crew to record video and sound for the event (Book reading, Q&A, panel discussion)
Immersive Experience Video
The process of editing for 4 walls in a room led to more creative choices of how the imagery appeared and synced. Each quadrant of this video is one wall of the venue.

In the edit, I first divided the screen preview into quadrants to represent each projected wall, however, for the final export, I put each wall onto one layer of the editor. This made it easy to export each wall at the right resolution.

Immersive Experience At Event
Book Launch Event Recording
I organised a crew of 2 (Camera and Sound) to record the live book launch event with Q&A and panel discussion. I then edited this for Tsitsi to have a copy.
Interview with Tsitsi Tsopotsa
I directed and produced this interview with Tsitsi Tsopotsa, organising venue and a crew of three (DOP, Sound and Gaffer). From this long-form content, I also edited three, one-minute vertical videos for Tsitsi's social media page, which can be found here.
I am always motivated to make films that share stories of the injustices that happen especially in diverse communities, so this was my underlying drive during this three month project.
